Located next to the community of San Marcos, Municipal Park Tzankujil harbors the only Dry Forest habitat adjacent to the lake.

There is also Arid Habitat along the 1.5 mile of Easy – Moderate trail. Elevation gain is minimal (<330 ft.).

This unique area includes Prevost Ground-Sparrow, Elegant Euphonia and dry habitat specialists.
